As we prepare to descend into the silly season, we’ve got some great news!
This year, we’ve been allocated enough stock of the incredibly beloved Billecart-Salmon Brut Réserve NV Champagne to satisfy everyone’s sparkling appetites! For the last couple of years, it’s been pretty heavily limited so we’re amped for a very Bille’ tinted holiday season this year.
Have a further read about Bille here if you fancy, but I’ve pulled all the details on the Brut below to jog your memory…
Maison Billecart-Salmon Brut Réserve NV Champagne
- Mareuil-sur-Ay, Champagne, France
- 12% alc | 7 g/L
Billecart ages it’s NV Cuvées for a minimum of 3 years before release, more than twice the legal requirement of 15 months, and this maturity and finesse shines through.
Comprised of 40% Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay with over 60% reserve wines, it’s no wonder it’s a tried-and-true favourite for sommeliers, critics, writers and general Champagne-fans the world over.
“Billecart NV is one of champagne’s most precise house wines and my all time fave of the entry NVs. The house of Billecart is the finest fizz on the shelves this year, not by concentration, power or presence but by the fairy-touch of understated delicacy and crystal-clear fidelity.”
– Tyson Stelzer
“The NV Brut Réserve is a fine introduction to this range.”
– Vinous
“An ethereal champagne that is head and shoulders above New World methode sparklers that look crude by comparison. Very attractive wine that’s all about power delivered with great subtlety.”
– Bob Campbell
“I drink this regularly and always enjoy it. Wonderful aromas of light dough, fresh flowers and sliced pears and peaches.”
– James Suckling
“The most recent release of the NV Champagne Brut is based on the 2019 vintage and takes this cuvée to new heights… In the glass, it’s very precise while also retaining a lot of the immediate appeal this cuvée has always achieved… Medium-bodied, with juicy fruit upfront, it takes on the most focus and soars across the finish with crunchy salinity. I love the direction they have taken with this wine.”
– Jeb Dunnuck
“I tasted 18 current non vintage cuvées of the most famous champagne houses last week blind – a rare treat – and Billecart- Salmon Brut Réserve was the most impressive for me.”
– Jancis Robinson
