The Valpolicella Blend is a combination of native red-wine grapes varieties that grow in the Veneto Region allocated in the north of Italy. Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Croatina are the most important ones in the Valpolicella DOC.
This wine is named after Regolo Sartori, a prominent figure in the second generation of Sartori.
For making the 2019 Sartori Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore Regolo, “.. grapes are vinified in contact with the skins for about 8-15 days, and no more than since the aim is to obtain the minerality, freshness and unique and rare character of these traditional grape varieties,(Winemaker, Franco Bernabei)”.
It has “deep shades of vivid garnet in colour; a noteworthy bouquet of red berries crossing over to ripe cherry, and an elegant round and full bodied, dry, velvety with black-cherry flavours and dried fruit on the lingering finish”.
James Suckling has scored this wine 92 points: “A spicy ripasso that tastes like an Amarone. Full-bodied with chewy tannins and a rich finish. Better after 2024”,
